Downer delivers electrical switch room for solar farm
Downer delivers electrical switch room for solar farm

Downer’s electrical manufacturing facility at Hexham in NSW has completed construction of a purpose-built electrical switch room for Energy SEA, supporting the Lancaster Solar Farm project in regional Victoria.

Energy SEA engaged Downer to design, manufacture and deliver the switch room, which houses 33kV switchgear, control and protection panels, internal cabling, fire suppression systems, and air conditioning. Designed and manufactured entirely in-house, it demonstrates Downer’s end-to-end capability across engineering, steel fabrication, building design and construction.

Seatransport 73m SLV was used as the trial platform for the MMR concept
Lloyd’s Register advances safe hybrid nuclear power in partnership with Seatransport

The design concept offers enhanced endurance, operational flexibility, and a significant reduction in emissions.

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has announced Approval in Principle (AiP) for a hybrid nuclear ready power concept developed with Australian ship design group, Seatransport Pty Ltd.

The design enables nuclear Micro Modular Reactors (MMRs) to be combined with conventional diesel-electric systems for 73-metre and 90-metre amphibious stern landing vessel (SLV) designs.

The AiP follows several years of close collaboration between LR and Seatransport.

Living in New Zealand
Living in New Zealand

New Zealand has a skills shortage list, so as long as you have the right skills, there will be no shortage of opportunities available to you. Skill shortages happen when employers find it hard to get staff with the right skills for the job. Knowing which jobs are in skill shortage can help you choose the best job option or decide what subjects to study. When jobs appear on Immigration New Zealand's skill shortage lists, this means the Government is actively encouraging skilled workers from overseas to work in that role in New Zealand.
