Wheeled Plant Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, telehandlers, and agricultural tractors, including associated attachments and towed equipment. Operators may be required to work across multiple activities and must therefore hold, maintain, and apply more than one relevant qualification. The role supports site logistics, material movement, and construction operations while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Job Responsibilities

Plant Operation & Compliance

  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and agricultural tractors safely and competently, including the use of attachments and towed equipment.
  • Work strictly to the daily plan and do not deviate without authorisation from supervision.
  • Follow all lifting plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements relevant to the task.

Performance & Reporting

  • Use the nominated bell‑to‑bell recording system for each shift as directed by the MEH Line Manager.
  • Carry out daily and weekly operator maintenance checks, reporting any defects promptly.
  • Maintain all equipment to a high standard of cleanliness and readiness.

Safety & Site Standards

  • Ensure your HPC ID pass is visible at all times while on site.
  • Adhere to all site safety rules, procedures, and operational controls.
  • Support a safe working environment by reporting hazards, unsafe conditions, or near misses.

Teamwork & Additional Duties

  • Work collaboratively with logistics teams, supervisors, and other plant operators to support efficient site operations.
  • Undertake any additional reasonable duties requested by the Logistics Manager or Supervisor
