The Senior Quantity Surveyor leads the Commercial Contract Management (CCM) team, ensuring the effective delivery of all commercial activities across the Portfolio. You will shape and implement commercial strategies, manage supplier performance, and support programme delivery through robust contract management, risk control, and stakeholder engagement. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence at all levels.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial Contract Management team to deliver high‑quality commercial outcomes.
- Provide clear, consistent communication to the team and support capability development through performance and talent processes.
- Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Commercial Strategy & Governance
- Support the development and implementation of commercial strategies at portfolio, programme, project, and package levels.
- Attend governance forums—including Programme Boards and Sanction Boards—to maintain a full understanding of the Portfolio.
- Ensure all activities comply with the Integrated Management System, including commercial policies, processes, and templates.
Contract & Supplier Management
- Lead the management and successful delivery of commercial contracts, including mobilisation, performance reviews, reporting, and contract close‑out.
- Maintain a responsive and capable supply chain aligned with business needs and long‑term strategic objectives.
- Identify requirements for new contracts and work with sourcing teams to develop effective acquisition strategies.
- Manage supplier applications, spend forecasts, and commercial reporting in line with processes.
Risk, Performance & Dispute Resolution
- Oversee commercial delivery risk through KPIs, incentivisation mechanisms, and NEC contract administration.
- Manage Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events, and the Early Warning Risk Register.
- Prepare estimates and cost plans where required.
- Lead the settlement of commercial disputes and produce lessons‑learned reports following contract completion.
Business Support & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Programme Managers and key suppliers to align contract management with business strategy.
- Support wider commercial improvement initiatives and contribute to strengthening the organisation’s supply chain reputation.
