Scaffolders work as part of a coordinated site team to safely and efficiently erect, modify, and dismantle a wide range of industrial scaffolding structures. Following direction from supervision, they carry out all scaffolding activities in accordance with their training, company procedures, and relevant safety standards. The role involves working with both Tube and Fitting systems and System Scaffolds to support construction, maintenance, and project delivery requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Scaffolding Operations
- Erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding structures using Tube and Fitting and System Scaffold components.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to deliver scaffolding tasks safely, efficiently, and to the required specification.
- Ensure all scaffolding work complies with industry standards, site rules, and company procedures.
Safety & Compliance
- Work in accordance with all training received, including safe systems of work, permits, and risk assessments.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, reporting hazards, unsafe conditions, or near misses promptly.
- Ensure scaffolding materials and equipment are used correctly and safely at all times.
Teamwork & Communication
- Collaborate effectively with fellow scaffolders, supervisors, and other site teams to support project delivery.
- Communicate clearly with supervision regarding progress, issues, or additional requirements.
- Support a positive safety culture by promoting safe behaviours and good housekeeping.
Quality & Standards
- Ensure scaffolding structures are built to the required design, load class, and specification.
- Carry out checks on erected scaffolds to confirm stability, compliance, and readiness for use.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard.
