The Civil Structural Engineering Technician works as part of a small team supporting the CS&A Responsible Engineer. The role involves producing high‑quality civil and structural models, drawings, and design deliverables, maintaining configuration baselines, and supporting site‑based activities such as surveys and walkdowns. This position requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage workload effectively within a project‑driven environment.

Job Responsibilities

Design & Drawing Production

  • Produce civil and structural models and drawings to the required quality standards, supporting successful project and task delivery.
  • Assist in generating additional design deliverables—including specifications, calculations, and technical reports—to support engineering outputs.
  • Create accurate “as‑built” drawings that reflect the configuration baseline and enable project close‑out.

Configuration Management & Site Support

  • Conduct plant walkdowns and update record drawings to maintain the civil and structural configuration baseline.
  • Manage and administer the site’s live services drawing, ensuring accuracy and currency.
  • Support the management of CE&I elements within the live services drawing and collate relevant information.
  • Assist with civil infrastructure and topographic site surveys.
  • Provide support to the site job supervisor as required.

Technical Development & Competence

  • Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge of civil and structural standards, BIM methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and internal procedures.
  • Develop UAV pilot capability (training provided) to support survey and inspection activities.

Workload Management & Collaboration

  • Manage personal workload effectively, attending project and team meetings and providing regular progress updates.
  • Support the Civil Structural team in delivering high‑quality outputs and meeting project deadlines.
  • Contribute to a collaborative working environment and assist colleagues where needed.
