The BIM Manager supports the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) by defining, developing, and assuring digital systems and processes that meet client requirements. The role ensures that digital tools and workflows enable effective design development, scheduling, procurement, and contractor‑led digital construction initiatives. Acting as the single point of interface for the M&T Portion, the BIM Manager oversees all matters relating to Digital Engineering, 3D Digital Management, and Data Management within 3D environments.

Job Responsibilities

Digital Strategy, Alignment & Governance

  • Work closely with BIM Managers and Data & Digitalisation Coordinators across all Portions to ensure alignment with the overall CWA Digitalisation, Data & Information Management Strategy and Programme Digitalisation Plans.
  • Provide leadership in promoting “digital by default” ways of working across the Engineering and Design function.
  • Drive digital skills development within the function and champion relevant IT deployment initiatives.
  • Ensure that programme objectives and Digitalisation Plans are fully supported through consistent digital practices.

Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight

  • Manage a team of Information Managers and BIM Technicians to support design development and the assembly of the Project Information Model (PIM).
  • Oversee coordination with interfacing stakeholders and ensure compliance with client submission requirements, including asset information deliverables.
  • Ensure digital deliverables meet quality, accuracy, and integration standards across all M&T scopes.
  • Report to the Engineering Manager for the M&T Portion and provide regular updates on digital progress and risks.

Digital Engineering & 3D Model Management

  • Define and assure the Digitalisation Plan and Data Management processes for the M&T Portion.
  • Act as the primary interface for all Digital Engineering, 3D Digital Management, and Data Management activities.
  • Ensure 3D environments are used effectively to support design coordination, clash detection, constructability reviews, and information delivery.
  • Maintain consistency and compliance with client BIM requirements, standards, and information management protocols.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and client representatives to ensure digital workflows support project objectives.
  • Facilitate alignment between engineering, construction, procurement, and digital functions.
  • Support the integration of digital tools and processes across the wider project environment.
