The Insulation and Caulking Lead supports the relevant Construction Leads throughout the full lifecycle of their allocated area, consistently demonstrating and promoting a strong Nuclear Safety Culture. The role is accountable for the integrated delivery performance of the Insulation and Caulking disciplines within assigned CWPs, ensuring all site activities are executed safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with CDM Regulations, project specifications, and official instructions.
Discipline Delivery & Coordination
- Provide input for progress reporting on all Insulation and Caulking activities within designated erection areas.
- Coordinate and manage interfaces between Insulation, Caulking, and other disciplines as part of the multi‑discipline construction delivery sequence.
- Oversee effective and efficient execution of all Insulation and Caulking discipline activities.
- Assess and determine the optimal insulation and/or fire‑proofing caulking methods required for each application within the work area.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant standards, specifications, and official instructions.
- Verify that all Insulation and Caulking strategies are fully compliant and appropriate for the area and installation process.
- Maintain a strong “Right First Time” approach, ensuring adherence to quality assurance requirements.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and shortfalls, escalating where necessary.
Planning, Productivity & Resource Management
- Support the development of planning data and confirm that required materials and plant are requested and available to meet the execution plan.
- Ensure productivity reviews are completed and reports are issued at required intervals.
- Use engineering experience to assess practicalities and risks associated with construction activities.
Change Management & Commercial Awareness
- Monitor change management processes and ensure all changes are recorded and implemented in line with contractual procedures.
- Provide discipline‑specific information to support the generation of cost advice formats.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Action instructions from Construction and Area Leads as required.
- Challenge strategies to ensure the best outcome for the project.
- Work collaboratively with multi‑discipline teams to support safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery.
