The Coating Product Buyer is responsible for analysing site requirements and ensuring coating products are procured on time, within specification, and in a cost‑effective manner. The role involves close collaboration with the wider procurement team, suppliers, material controllers, and delivery leads to ensure materials are available when needed and meet all project and quality requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Product Selection & Procurement Support
- Support the delivery team in selecting coating products that align with construction constraints and project strategy.
- Create and maintain all documentation required for procurement and quality assurance of coating products.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain information, quotations, and updates to support timely procurement.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with material controllers and delivery leads to update trackers and operational plans.
- Maintain and communicate the risk register for coating product activities.
- Coordinate workforce training requirements for coating works through the training supply chain.
Quality & Qualification Management
- Manage requests for qualification, including coordination with third‑party laboratories and oversight of product qualification processes.
- Ensure all coating products meet required specifications and quality standards before use.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure no commitments are made outside delegated authority levels.
- Support programme delivery objectives as identified by the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development of a Joint Management Team and promote collaborative working behaviours aligned with agreed principles.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and contribute to best‑practice adoption across the programme.
